An initial design consultation is $300 + tax for up to 2 hours.
We can cover a lot of ground in that time so be prepared to take notes. Some clients prefer to record our discussion as well.
Any subsequent meetings will be charged at $150/hour + tax.

Renovations
Many renovation clients are eager to see several floor plan options by way of conceptual designs and 3D renderings. They value the upfront investment in order to have a smoother renovation process.
New Home Build
If I'm involved early in the process, I can help review your house plans and provide feedback on the floor plan. Things I look for include but not limited to:

appropriate door swing in each room

appropriate placement of receptacles

adequate space for furniture
-
positioning of doors, windows and furniture and their impact on traffic flow
-
adequate lighting and placement of lights
You may also find 3D renderings helpful in visualizing details such as ceiling designs and built-in cabinetry within a room. It can also help in visualizing your furniture plan.
How do we work together?
It's completely up to you. You may choose to hire me to do all or part of the above. Many clients choose to involve me heavily in the planning and initial design phase, then taper off as construction is in full swing. I still get involved as design issues and questions arise with the contractor or builder. I'm essentially your Designer on retainer.
Fees and Process

For larger or longer term projects, I ask for a retainer in order to work with you throughout your project. This amount ranges from $1500 to $3000 depending on the project scope. Throughout the project, I track my hours and bill you accordingly 1 to 2 times a month. The retainer will be deducted from your final invoice at the end of the project. My rate is $150/hour + tax.
