How much are we involved?

It's completely up to you.  You can use us for all of the above or any part of it.

There are 3 common ways in which we work with clients:

1.  Occasional Consulting

This is very popular for homeowners who have a clear vision of what they want but require a designer's
perspective to ensure that they are on the right track.

We typically meet the client when he/she needs help with an aspect of the project.  If asked, we will liaise with a
supplier or the contractor/builder to clarify any design issues.  This continues throughout the project until the
client no longer requires our services.

2.  Conceptual Designs with Renderings

Some clients come to us purely for design ideas and concepts.  They want to see the
possibilities of a renovation, to look at different options.  We work closely with them
at the front end of the project, establishing the vision, understanding their wish list
and priorities and then developing design options for them to consider.

This involves an initial needs analysis and data gathering meeting.  Then we take the
information and develop the conceptual designs.  Part of this service includes com-
puter generated renderings so the clients will have a clear vision of what their new
space will look like.

The scope of every project is different, so it may take 10 hours or 50 hours to complete
the conceptual designs.  Typically, this type of client sees the value  of this upfront investment so that they can
maximize their overall investment.

3.   Full Design Services

Some clients prefer to have us handle the whole project, from conceptual designs to liaising with the contractor
throughout the entire project to deliver the end product.  Then even beyond that to furnish and style the entire
space.

We act as the client's agent and design manager to lessen their headaches.

If you are only looking for some new design ideas for your new home or renovation, then check out our
design consultation service.

Design Fees

For all of the above design services, we charge on an hourly basis at $150 + GST.

A retainer is typically required to retain our services for the duration of your project.  Actual design time is
tracked and charged on a monthly basis thereafter. The retainer will be applied to your final invoice upon
completion of your project.  Travel fees will also apply for site visits outside of Calgary.
